Survivor's Guide to True Crime

Creator & Host

Survivor’s Guide to True Crime moves beyond the crime itself to explore survival, recovery, advocacy, and what happens after the headlines fade. Kara created and hosts the series with Kimberly Corban, bringing survivors into conversations centered on their experiences rather than the people who harmed them.

From subject to storyteller

Kara’s relationship with television began as the survivor at the center of the story. Over time, that role expanded into producing, hosting, investigating, and helping shape how stories are told.

That evolution now informs both her on-camera work and her consulting with productions and organizations navigating survivor-centered stories.
